Overgrown and unsightly yard and property. Front and back, an absolute eyesore.
At 1002 or 1006 E. First not far from Woodlawn. Last Monday the 7th therewas a bigger pile of trash in the driveway/sidewalk. A smaller pile today the 14th, but some at least seems to have been there on the 7th. It might be a rental property. I dont know policy on this, but it seems the rental company should be fined / charged for special collection of improperly left trash. Then they can pass it on to their tenants.
Rather than blowing the dust around this and other Bryan Park playground, perhaps park employees could weed the mulch. I think it looks OK, but a better use of employee time, I think. Or take care of the weeds on the various spruce trees along the paths. That latter item may already be on a regular maintenance calendar, but that too would be more useful than dust blowing.
I live north of the roundabout at Tapp Rd and Adams St. Almost every time I am entering the roundabout from the north, I am almost hit by a car coming from the west. Vehicles habitually drive very quickly into the roundabout and don't yield to traffic already in the roundabout. I often end up having to stop in the roundabout to avoid a collision, which can also be a traffic hazard. It seems that area would benefit from a speed bump for those entering the roundabout - especially from the west as they are generally travelling the fastest when coming from the highway.
There's a bunch of trash pink chemicals and all that sitting right there and I know for a fact the city will not pick it up unless it is in trash bags and in trash cans
There's a yard that needs mowed at 1912 S. Rogers. It's hard to see traffic coming from the north when we pull out from Chambers Drive.
The pine tree on Sheridan Dr. just east of Manor Road was marked for removal on May 5, 2025. I thought it would be removed within 60 days, yet it is still (barely) standing and leaning heavily. This tree continues to be a significant hazard. Is there anyone who has this scheduled for removal yet? Or was it forgotten about?
The trees and bushes in the Rail Trail parking lot along Country Club Drive are getting rather overgrown. The branches and bushes are obstructing the pedestrian and bicycle path that goes along the east edge of the parking lot to connect the Rail Trail to the B-Line. Can this all get trimmed back? Cut it back far enough it doesn't just grow right back in 2 weeks. Thanks.
Patterson Point Affordable Housing by Pivotal: Air conditioning in most (or all) apartments has not been working and they say repairs may not happen for up to 2 weeks. This is affecting the residents who are low-income seniors, many of whom are elderly with serious health problems. Management has provided fans and small portable ac units to some residents but this seems to be insufficient for the current weather conditions. This seems to be a dangerous situation for vulnerable citizens.
