September 3, 2025 To the City Council, I am writing as a resident and concerned neighbor regarding the property at 2212 S Belhaven Court. Since Friday, August 29, the owners pulled all their belongings out of the garage and left them sitting on the driveway and even out onto the public sidewalk. Among the items are an old water heater and a refrigerator, left sitting there unsecured, along with various other household clutter. It has now been several days, and nothing has been done. The sidewalk is blocked, and frankly, it looks terrible for the neighborhood. Years ago, folks in Sycamore Knolls had the pride and courtesy to keep their property in order and not let things spill out into public space. It’s disheartening to see that kind of respect for neighbors and community slipping away. I urge the city to look into this matter and see that these items are removed promptly. Hello. I am writing to see what I can find out about the streets in my neighborhood. I have lived in Sycamore Knolls for over 25 years, and I haven't seen the streets in such bad condition. I took pictures on my walk this morning on Rock Creek Drive and Montclair Avenue. The one uploaded here is just one of many that I would be happy to email to someone if necessary. I know that our neighborhood is listed in the street indicator as in poor condition, but I don't see anything that describes when we might be in line for repaving. I am not an expert, but I think at least the two streets I mentioned need to be grated first and then repaved. We have so many layers and chunks of asphalt are everywhere in the streets and clogging up the drains. Thank you and please advise.

On south High Street, there is a 3-4 inch hole in the (south bound)road way that is about a foot deep. I do not know how wide the hole is beyond the surface.

The house and yard are totally overgrown. It is next an elementary school and their buildings. The yard and adjacent properties owned by the same person are both at least 16" tall with brush and large tree limbs down.

This house is in horrific repair and appears unsafe for the residents. The gutters are chained to a scaffold so they don't fall. The roof has visible holes and rot with the eaves falling off in to the yard.

Southeast Park tennis courts have tall weeds growing around the fence area. Also, the sidewalk on the northside of the tennis courts is caked in mud, making it difficult to use. This was addressed a couple of months ago, but the mud is back. Looks like the sidewalk needs to be raised or re-done to fix the problem.

I volunteer with both the Utility Department and the Park Department storms drains open and keeping plastic and other waste from impacting Jackson Creek. I have removed broken pavement from Sussec Dr, Queensway, and Montcair. I have bagged broken pavement in three plastic bags and these need to be picked up by a city crew. I have placed these bags on the west side of my driveway.

How long are we going to let this guy get away with abandoning his property and never cutting the grass. Looks awful, especially right next to an elementary school. Please address, thank you!
