People who are unhoused are leaving their belongings / lots of trash in the alley of our office building. Customers/clients/pedestrians use this alley often.

Trash is overflowing containers behind house (on Fairview). There are needles on the ground a few feet from a public sidewalk where young children pass by. They have been there well over a week. No one seems to be staying at the house right now.

The house at 342 S Madison is rented out as a residential unit without a rental occupancy permit.

I am not sure what the owner of this building has planned, but it seems there has seem some slow work done to the house since my husband and I have bought and renovated our home a year and a half ago. In this time, we have seen animals come and go from this abandoned house, seemingly homeless people come and go from the basement and the windows boarded up. This home is in utter disarray. With so many homes in the prospect hill area being renovated and maintaining the historical feel, this is one of the few if not the only home that is a major eye sore on our neighborhood. I am not sure if there can be anything done legally to motivate the owner to do renovations more quickly or to just tear it town. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated to address this problem. There is so much garbage outside this house, the house looks like it's falling down and I think an older lady and children live here. I own the houses next to this and it is VERY much negatively impacting our life. PLEASE do something!
