Fall leaves and the tree seed that falls with the leaves can be used to reforest idle land, no mow zones, and natural areas in Bloomington Parks, other city properties and private properties. This idea can help both the city and private home owners to make a positive use of Fall leaves to complete the urban forest canopy. Mixtures of tree seed and leaves spread in layers on land will produce dense stands of native trees. Please forward this idea to Joanna Sparks, Haskell Smith, Gillian Field, Beth Cote. Desperately need the leaf vacuum to grab the leaves around the intersection of Blair and 11th. I scooped up the ones that had completely blocked all 5 storm drain grates at the intersection, but without removing the leaves from the rest of the street they will just wash in and block them up again with the next rainstorm. Last time they were blocked was in the spring, and they caused the water to jump into our yard and flood our basement.
