I submitted an erosion/drainage issue behind my house (2201 E. Autumn Dr. Bloomington IN 47401). Someone from City called and left a message for me saying that it is on private property therefore City will not take care of it. I showed it to several other folks and in their opinion, it is City's responsibility since the rainwater pipe is the one causing the damage. I am not sure if your site visitors went to the location to verify this. The rain water from the entire neighborhood comes through this pipe and ends in the creek. I am attaching a picture with this form so that you can take a look at it.If the site visitor wants to visit again, this is happening in between (the back of ) houses 2201 and 2200.

Ms Dula left me a voice message on 4/26/16 with concerns about drainage at the end of Stephens Dr and who is responsible for it. I checked the area and did not see any issues with the drainage in this area.

Area on east side of Lincoln, N. of 12th Street and close to RR fence is a low area where water accumulates and serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. This area should be regraded or filled to prevent the water from pooling.

This email was forwarded to me by Tom Axsom on January 8, 2015. It was forwarded to Tom by Joe VanDeventer: To the Department it may most concern; My wife and I moved to Bloomington last July and have been renting a bungalow on East 2nd Street for the past 6 months. We have been looking for a permanent home and are considering purchasing a particular home at 1929 E. Southdowns. There is one problem; there is an open drainage ditch running the length of the front yard where it meets the road. I assume it is a city easement and is city maintained. I am first and foremost quite concerned about the possibility of children being injured in the ditch, and would welcome the city installing proper pipes and covering the area. I’m also concerned about any liability I might have as homeowner. How might I go about obtaining a letter from the city which states that the city is responsible for maintenance of the ditch and has liability for any injuries that may occur? Thank you. The public alley located off of Hawthorn Drive to the west (between 1st and University St) has a recurring problem of washing out due to Hawthorne Street drainage running down the alley. It is a gravel alley. It currently has several gulleys that make it difficult to navigate with a car. It has been regraded several times, only to wash out again. Needs to be graded to make it passable for now and then needs a more permanent fix to keep it from recurring. Thanks!

Mr Richie left a voice message on 3/25/15 saying that in heavy rains, water rushes down Wylie and across Woodlawn and down his drive. At times it has gone into the basement. He said he is going to have his drive paved this year and he wants to know if a drain could be put in that would connect to the drain he says runs down the center of his drive.

Mr Kamen called yesterday afternoon to report his company (Bryan Rental) is working on the home at this address and he is concerned about drainage in the back yard. He knows there is a storm pipe running through the side yard and opens at the railroad ditch but it doesn't seem to go anywhere after that.
