I'm tired of being solicited by homeless people anytime I walk around downtown. I love this city and I love living downtown but I am hesitant to even walk a few blocks away from my apartment because I'm relentlessly confronted by homeless people. I have no problem with homeless people and I'm willing to pay my part of the taxes to get them steady jobs and homes, but soliciting hard working residents should not be tolerated and the authorities must step in

6/23/16 To: John Hamilton Mayor I hope the Taste of Bloomington was a big success. It was bad news for the laborers who set up the tents. Southside Rental who employed them did not pay them. They had some excuses. These are folks who really need the money. It reflects badly on the city that those at the lowest level do not get paid promptly. I hope you will tell Southside that they give the city a bad name. Bloomington is a great city and the Taste of Bloomington has gone on well for many years. Thanks, Robert P. Muldoon 501 N. I called the Bloomington police department this evening to report a noise complaint (someone in the apartment complex adjacent to mine is playing incredibly loud rap music). I was told by someone on the phone that the noise ordinance in Bloomington does not start until 11 pm, however, section 14.09.030 states that "Sound that is clearly audible to a person with normal hearing from any place other than the premises from which the source of the sound is located, when the sound occurs between the hours of nine p.m. and seven a.m., is prima facie evidence of a violation of this section." The lady was pleasant, and told me that she would send someone over to look into it, but she was convinced that the city of Bloomington's noise ordinance did not go into affect until 11 pm. Might be worth looking into.

We are having an annual sidewalk sale on July 11th and wanted to get approval to have a food truck parked outside of our store. Just wondering who I would contact to get approval or fill out a request. Thanks, Kelly Williams Store Manager Urban Outfitters 530 E. Mrs. Leiter feels that every time *(pls. inquire w/ her for details) she's dealt with our Animal Shelter, the people assisting her have been unwilling and uncooperative. Her experience so far has been so negative that she went to Martinsville to adopt a pet instead of coming to our A.S. She noted that she's live in many different towns, and has never run into an A.S. that seems so unhelpful and uninterested in her needs/concerns. **(JIM-I told her you'd be appropriate person to deal w/)
