For Administration Leadership and All Council Members: midwestern citizens including all of Bloomington and Monroe county are paying very close attention to the AI wave and increase in control of resources that put cost burdens on the common rate payer instead of the companies drawing upon those resources the most. Citizens need some public acknowledgement that this is on leaders’ radar and that our leadership will have a voice in this issue as these projects continue to pop up in adjacent locations across the state. Leadership should be putting resources toward advocacy at the state level to get these costs lowered for common citizens and get these tech giants to pay their fair share. When folks can no longer afford power or water we have a major issue. Please don’t turn away from this rising issue. Water is the next big resource crisis and we need to stay ahead of it.

To the City Council,
I am writing as a resident and concerned neighbor regarding the property at 2212 S Belhaven Court. Since Friday, August 29, the owners pulled all their belongings out of the garage and left them sitting on the driveway and even out onto the public sidewalk. Among the items are an old water heater and a refrigerator, left sitting there unsecured, along with various other household clutter.
It has now been several days, and nothing has been done. The sidewalk is blocked, and frankly, it looks terrible for the neighborhood. Years ago, folks in Sycamore Knolls had the pride and courtesy to keep their property in order and not let things spill out into public space. It’s disheartening to see that kind of respect for neighbors and community slipping away.
I urge the city to look into this matter and see that these items are removed promptly. The sooner the better, for the safety of children walking by, and for the good of the community as a whole.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
A concerned neighbor

Road construction signs have been here for months. No construction is happening. I received a response to my previous report that, "This project is not yet completed. The signs will be removed upon completion."
Whatever project this is has also not begun. The signs need to be removed until the project is actually ready to commence. Posting signs months in advance is irresponsible. When and if this mystery project ever starts, crews will be at higher risk because of the street division's poor planning. Everyone in this neighborhood is used to those signs being there for no reason, so they are useless as a safety measure.
