The sidewalk along Winslow Rd all along the Bentley Court neighborhood is overgrown and the stairs to access Roger’s Park are nearly impassable due to weeds. This is particularly a nuisance as the road to access the park is closed this summer so the sidewalk is the only option. I realize the stairs aren’t very accessible in general but it’s all we’ve got!
The area on the north side of Sudbury Drive, between the last Millenium driveway and Arbor Ridge Way is not being maintained, mowed, etc. by the Millemium Apartment Management. I complained to Kenny Liford in the summer of 2024. He told me he gave them a warning and that they would be fined if they did not comply. To date, they have never mowed that area since that complaint. They used to maintain it until the past 2-3 years. According to the INDOT, this area is within the city limits. The area not being maintained is along the tree conservancy, which is owned by Millenium but governed by the city.
People are regularly parking in front of the fire hydrant on Berkley North Court. Is there a way to get the curb painted, to make it more obvious that there is a hydrant that should not be blocked? Thank you.
The lower branches of the city oak tree in front of the property need to be trimmed. They extend into the street and obstruct vehicles.
We have lived on first st since 2020 and our stretch of road (between the stop sign at Woodlawn and the one on Henderson) that our young child has to cross to get to his school bus stop is the only section of first Street residentially that has a big space between stop signs and no speed bumps. Because of this what I've noticed, since the speed bumps east of Woodlawn and first were put in, is people often speed on our stretch of road. There are two other families at our bus stop and they have noticed the same thing and often worry about crossing the street to either get to the park or the bus stop as a result. I believe we also need speed bumps on our stretch of road as it feels like drivers are now compensating and trying to make up for lost time.
Potential fire hazard caused by plant overgrowth. Severely overgrown grass/plants between the public sidewalk and the Henderson Crossing apartments (the building closest to the intersection of Atwater and Henderson). Several are long enough to drape over the sidewalk. There are outdoor AC/condenser units next to the apartment building, but they're almost completely covered by the grass/weeds. Some of the weeds are taller than the condenser units. General recommendation is to keep 1-3 feet of clearance around these units to prevent objects from blocking the intake for these units. Maybe there's some sort of guard preventing the plants from actually blocking the intake, but I couldn't see any - I only knew the units were there because I could hear them, they're almost completely concealed by overgrowth. These trash cans have remained this week for weeks. Not clear anyone is living in the house. It’s an eyesore and interferes with those of us who walk along Swain
