Why wasn't my trash collected today? Recycles were collected but not trash.
Hi there, My name is Jieling Liu, a visiting scholar at the Indiana University Bloomington. I have a Mexican driving license in need of translation from Spanish to English, in order to proceed at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for a driving test. A friend told me that the Bloomingting Municipality has a translation service. If would be much appreciated if you could share any information you might have regarding this matter. Thank you. Best regards, Jieling Liu
The Woods at Latimer apartment complex has smoke detectors in units that are up to 10 years expired. Included photo are ones removed from our unit. Maintenance claims to only replace them when residents request, since "they still work" and "It's easier to leave old ones up than go into every unit and put new ones in". When batteries in these expired ones died, we alerted maintenance and they said to take them out and just "not start a fire" overnnight, as they would be out to replace them in the morning since it wasn't considered an emergency to not have working smoke detectors in the unit.
Reported street light outages at 11th & Morton.
There is a long stretch of road where one side of traffic has been closed/blocked off for some time at E Winslow Rd & S Old State Rd 37. A resident called stating that she went to the street department, who told her to go to P&T, who told her to go to the county, who told her to go to the city. Asking about this stretch of road and when it will be reopened.
North side of Hawthorne Dr./E. 1st St. intersection: When trying to turn from southbound Hawthorne onto 1st St., it is difficult to see oncoming westbound traffic on 1st St., due to the overgrown foliage in the landscape strip in front of 1127 E. 1st St. There's approx. 60' from the overgrowth to the intersection & with cars traveling 30mph, there is very little reaction time if you pull onto 1st. I've almost caused a wreck twice, because I couldn't see far enough past the foliage without nosing out into the intersection. This is an unsafe condition & this foliage should be cut down.
