Re: Non-inclusive equipment at Griffy Lake- Hello, I am an avid Kayaker and was excited to learn of Griffy's addition of 6 kayaks. My husband and I had visited several times and enjoyed the canoes (there were never kayaks available) and were glowing with praise for our new favorite lake. (photo attached). My excitement soon turned to bitter disappointment, and at this point I have no desire to return to Griffy. My husband and I rented a car to visit, only to be turned away (after the woman behind the counter looked me up and down) for being too large to ride. The kayaks at Griffy are the smallest size made with the lowest weight limit on the market. This is not inclusive. I urge you to consider adding a larger models that accommodate adult kayakers. This would better serve the community and prevent others from having this embarrassing, expensive, and horribly negative experience. Thank you for your consideration. Andrea McManis

As I read several reports concerning PUDs and student housing in general, I regularly come upon an acronym, DUE. Would you please tell me what DUE stands for? Thank you. GJK

Dear Mayor and City Council Members: I know you don't want to hear about DEER!...but today I went in my backyard in mid-afternoon and was confronted by two adult bucks and a doe. We've had the young buck in the yard and the woods that we own for a few weeks, but this second buck is mature. Have you ever faced down or gotten close to a buck? They're powerful and aggressive. Especially with another buck and doe in the vicinity. What are you going to do to provide us with citizen protection from this threat? This is NOT Bambi! If it was a human intruder or an untagged dog or threatening dog,or any other wild animal, I have recourse and can call the police or animal control for protection. WHAT IS MY PROTECTION FROM THIS AGGRESSIVE AND WILD ANIMAL? This isn't funny anymore!!!! I am afraid to go in my own yard in daylight! Barbara George & Barbara Lechner 1622 S. Animal Control & Neglected Pets

4239-4299 West Lilac Lane

Case Date:
7/12/2016

4231 W Lilac has a male black cat in danger; at one time I assumed and told the Animal Control Officer Eubanks that "Jack" was ok. He has swollen eye shut, signs of malnourishment and neglect by the owners at 4231 W Lilac; this family appears to be low income and have struggles; they are taking care of this cat; the cat "Jack" is in danger of more neglect and animal cruelty unless, an offcer approaches the family and sees for themself. Since the last time I spoke with Officer Eubanks, Jack the cat has deteriorated drastically. Also, I was unable to place the Momma Tortiose Shell, the good news is that she was not pregnant; she just looked like it. I have placed an ad in the paper hopefully, to seek her a new home. The tortiose momma kitty, I have been feeding, providing medical care and human interaction, she is very sweet but, it afraid to come into my home because she appears to be very afraid of other cats. So, hopefully someone will answer my ad to give her a loving home, she no longer has a cat meow voice, it is gone, she has had some trauma from the last time animal control was not able to pick her up and she was in a cage too long and that traumatized her. Her voice has not returned. Her's eyes show her pain and she loves being held, this is one sweet cat, sadly she will most likely die on my porch or underneath my home. There are not enough people around that care enough about the strays. Thanks to Nadine Eubanks and her perseverance in at least capturing two other strays at my address and getting to the facility for care.
