Request a new Street Light

The sidewalks being lit up would be safer for pedestrians. The sidewalks are dark making it hard to see pedestrians about to step into the roadway. Just a little adjustment is all they need.
Nuisance Lights
Alley running east-west between Morton and Madison streets, located about half way between Dodds and 1st Street
- Case Date:
- 4/26/2026
There is an old light pole half way along the alley with a flood light high up that glares light across several lots and shines into my house and porch (748 S. Morton St.).
This is not a Duke Energy pole. It is only identifiable by a number 4, about to fall off, and an inspection medallion dated 2003. The pole right at Morton, to which it is connected, says it is owned by Public Service Co. of Indiana, pole number punched into metal plaque 1627-709 and maybe also punched notches for Customer and Owned. An inspection medallion that says OSMOSE insp. 2018. D.
This simplest way to end the light leakage would be to remove the light. If properly shielded to prevent the light leakage of course that would be okay too.
I have photos, but I can't figure out how to add the file to this UReport. If you could send me an email address I can send the photos as a Word file.
I would be glad to meet someone from the city and show them the source of the problem.
Thanks for your help.
best,
Jean Lave
Street Trees
Across the street from 648 N Madison St
- Case Date:
- 4/9/2026
The image is one of the sycamore trees planted along Madison, where the planter space is being outgrown. It appears that the metal sides of the box could be removed, and some bricks as well, to give the trees space to continue to grow. The trees are really an asset, and I hope that the arborist team can help keep them healthy. Just FYI!

City Construction Projects
936 W 2nd St

2nd St is trashed from S Walker Street to Buildings Trade Park. Recent construction did a terrible job patching their work, it’s hazardous in many places.

This has been like this for some timeSo now we have rats in the neighborhood. I suspect they are using the yellow receptacle for garbage. It has been overflowing for weeks.

This dog barks all night long. Woke me up at 2 am barking incessantly. This is not new. They probably just need to spend some time with it but until then it’s going to just bark and bark and bark.
Accessibility Problem
922 1/2 W 7th ST
- Case Date:
- 1/28/2026
7th St has alternate street side parking. With the recent snowfall, cars on the parked side were boxed in, and snow on the no parking side was pushed onto previously cleared sidewalk, according to my renter. That mean it is full of ice clumps, making it impossible for she or me to remove. Can the city actually remove some of the snow for us - we know the first effort was to clear streets, but it impossible lift for a senior to clear twice the height of packed road snow on the sidewalk.

Traffic Suggestions
916 E Grimes LN
- Case Date:
- 9/21/2025
Vehicles driving east on Grimes often stop in the middle of the road (rather than in their "lane") at the stop sign at Woodlawn. This makes it impossible to turn onto Grimes from Woodlawn until they have moved on, leading to difficult and unpredictable traffic situations. Would it be possible to put a center line here on Grimes, just for the intersection and the approach to it? To encourage drivers on Grimes to be in their lane when they stop at the intersection.
