Tenants parking car in alley behind the house (west side of property).
Abandoned vehicle
Massive work is being done on our short street (S. Sare Rd.) - bulldozers, trucks, people. But a large white Cadillac SUV with something in the driver's seat, possibly a human, sits parked almost in my driveway. As I was trying to get out of my driveway this morning I had to steer around several vehicles. However, there was open space behind the white Cadillac SUV, plenty of room - it could have moved to make it easier for me to get past him. He didn't move! Perhaps he is stoned, asleep, drunk, stupid, or maybe it's a robot sitting in the driver's seat. However, IT, the body in the driver's seat, indicated no intention of being helpful. He was not in a City of Bloomington vehicle, but a private vehicle, so perhaps he was an intruder, a spy of some kind, or he was hiding out because it was a stolen vehicle and he thought he would be safely overlooked in all the disruption. Lots of scenarios are possible. But if the City of Bloomington is paying this incompetent person to sit like a dummy in his private, oversized car and block the way of citizens, he should certainly be fired, or he should not be paid if you are paying him to sit there, hour after hour, oblivious to his surroudings. tri North Street blocked at Monroe Street during pickup. please prompt information not to stop in street. cars pass unsafely due to unlawful clog
Not clear if this is the responsibility of 308 or 310, but there is a weedy tree on the south end of the property line between these two lots that has grown out a lot, so much so that it is hard to drive down the alley at this point, especially when there are tons of cars parked back there.
The business at 114 E 6th St consistently has the alley at the side of their business blocked with trash cans and boxes.
I live at 319 N. Fairview St at the SW corner of W 8th and N Fairview St. Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday April 15, around 3.30 or 4pm the school was releasing the students and the usual long line of parent cars was lined along 8th street. I had driven west, up 8th St, past the school, to the intersection where I usually turn right to park in front of my house. Usually drivers don't block the intersection and this allows a smooth drive through in all 4 directions. Yesterday however when I reached the intersection where I take a left turn in order to park, I found a car parked right across the street blocking all north south traffic. Normally drivers in line keep the lanes open. The driver of this car wasn't moving because he couldn't. Eventually he was able to move enabling my left turn and a north facing school bus to continue on its way. I parked my car and went over to the male crossing guard and asked him why had permitted the driver of the car to block the street. He completely ignored me and was uncommunicative. So, I want to know what responsibilities the crossing guard had and has. His job is about safety I believe so why would he permit a car, part of a long line of waiting vehicles to block egress. His silence and unwillingness to engage with me really annoyed and I suggest you find him another job not involving public safety. I'm not being vindictive I just want people to take their job and role seriously. And, no children were around while this was going on. Robert Harman.
Some company is cutting bricks and creating a HUGE cloud of debris. They are parked in the alley without signage or anything, blocking both entrances.
