Bus sign found stashed in bushes on Bline near post 146
This van that is parked in the bus stop is not even parked illegally. Wtf mate??
The bus stop sign at the corner of S. Sare Road and E. Buttonwood Lane has been hit by a car and is leaning over. I've pulled it up as much as I can, but it should probably just be replaced or at least fixed straight. Thanks so much for your help! Travis Thickstun 2750 E. Buttonwood Lane Bloomington, Ind. 47401
benches at bus stops There are a lot of elderly/handicapped individuals who ride the #2 Countryview bus to and from Krogers Seminary square. For some reason the benches on the west side of Krogers were removed. I contacted Bloomington Transit and they said it was the city that removed them. I was told it was because too many "street" people hang out there so this is to discourage that. It does not make sense since the bus stop on the east side of Krogers, closer to the park where those people hang out. The other thing that makes no sense is to inconvenience senior citizens over a situation that would seem to be something that the police patrol should be able to discourage by driving by often, especially those golf cart looking vehicles or bike patrols since it is part of the bline trail. Since the grocery is expanding and updating probably even more people will come there I would like to request that thosebenches be replaced. I can get a petition signed by passengers if it will do any good.
I am surprised, as I rode the bus a few days ago and to see a woman, handicapped in a mechanical chair strapped down only to see her and the chair overturn. To my surprise after helping the woman up and asking if she needed medical assistance, she stated no tand that incidents like that happen often and even if she needed help the bloomington transit never offer to help. You would think that it would be in the best interest of the transit system to take care of individual with special needs, as with many witnesses such neglect of elderly and special need individuals can cost the city millions.
Had a city bus pull out in front of me thursday evening. Half the time they don't stop at the stop sign on Hagan.
Bus 555, on route 3E, almost ran into me at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018. I was at the stop sign, leaving the parking lot as referenced above on the map. The bus took the left turn at an angle and did not stop. I put my car in reverse and the bus just missed my car by inches. My entire family was in the car with me. I have not seen bus driving this bad in quite some time. They need to be careful and take it slow. If they cannot make the turn, then let the other person turn so they have a wider angle. I'm not sure why a bus would be in a parking lot anyways--it's a poor place to put a bus stop if there is one. There's too much congestion in that parking lot especially.
As of 6 pm this evening, there were 4 Lime Scooters illegally parked in the bus shelter near Pete Ellis and Longview. (Photo attached). I first noticed the scooters there about 8:30 AM this morning. Lime employees freelance "chargers" who sign up up through their app to charge the scooters overnight at home and then place them in the morning. These scooters were likely placed by a new and under-trained charger. I reported the issue to Lime through their support system about 9 am and received a form response just a few minutes later that someone was being dispatched to retrieve the scooters. However, Lime did not keep their word and by the end of the work day, the scooters are still there. This evening I see one had had been knocked over--- probably by someone just trying to use the bus shelter as intended. I recommend impounding these scooters. Lime should know better than to allow their team to place the scooters in bus shelters and should at least keep their word to address issues like this probably when they arise! I'm on the Bicycle Pedestrian Safety Commission and we will be discussing new scooters as a topic at our meeting next Monday.
