The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. Two LED fixtures were recently installed at this intersection, both on the east side of Walnut, one north of 12th and the other south of 12th. They are *very* bright. Is it possible to swap them out with a lower wattage? We do see others in the neighborhood that appear to be dimmer and don't cast so much harsh light onto neighboring properties. It would be a relief if these were also more resident-friendly.

The City does not maintain the trees between the sidewalk and the street on Adams. The trees and brush are overgrown with invasive species and the local residents are spending hours and money trying to maintain the weeds/trees that are impeding their property. The sidewalk is not accessible because the City has not maintained their portion of the land between the sidewalk and the street.

This house completely neglects their yard all summer unless the city gives them tickets. Their landlord is useless and won’t take action unless threatened with fines. I take care of my yard and I’m sick of living next to this.

Excessive water from drainage creek has engulfed vehicles and properties caused by improper size culvert and drainage path South of address.

Severe flooding occurred again tonight, June 29, 2025, worse than any prior event here since we moved here 4 years ago. Water rose rapidly and reached homes well beyond the creek. The creek now flows over the entire road southward. I had to warn neighbors up to three houses away to move their cars. I believe the house across the street has flooded. A neighbor called the city Friday (two days ago) asking for culvert clearing, but no one came. No progress has been shared on the engineering case either, despite past assurances. This is a FEMA floodplain, and repeated failures to maintain infrastructure are now causing widespread risk. Photo attached. More documentation available.
