When is the city going to match the County for work hours/hours worked? Closing at 4pm makes public meetings available to start earlier in the evening, reduces traffic stress on roads as a major employer (remote work accomplishes this too), and creates less confusion on need of City versus County services and what hours they can be reached.
County is getting 16 paid holidays and discussion of 8.5% COLA raise with starting salaries already at a higher wage than most comparable positions within the City, in addition to many roles working 8am-4pm. Will this continued deficit in pay and benefits be addressed in the upcoming budget decisions for City staff?
Using the MyBloomington website, ( https://bloomington.in.gov/mybloomington/ ) It would be helpful to list the historic designation per the SHARD for houses both in and out of historic districts. (i.e. C / Contributing, NC / Non-Contributing, O / Outstanding, etc.) and linked to a page that explains WHAT THAT MEANS in terms of modifications to the outsides of houses, whether or not that structure is in an historic district. Many homeowners come before the Historic Preservation Commission angry and uninformed. Consult with the HPC Program Manager, Noah Sandweiss, on what to put in these blurbs - it changes based on whether the property is in a district, as well which district it is in. There is a large pipe knocked down from the corner of South Rogers Street and Hillside, it is laying on the sidewalk.
Since the street was repaved our garage has flooded 3 times in the past year due to runoff coming d9wn our driveway and over our yard. We tried to dig a relief ditch but this is more difficult and the flooding is due to the fill in of the original ditch in the easement and the fact that the culvert under the driveway is now clogged with roots and dirt. I need the ditch dug properly. Also, your department fixed a brok3n main last winter and did not fill in the hole left by the repair.
Olcott park has severs spots that are rusted and will be holes soon as well as spots that have holes already. I’m concerned with this warmer weather someone’s child’s hand or feet will be cut in these holes as they’re the perfect size for this to happen. Very dangerous, please help, thanks!
There are a couple intersections around where I live that 100% need to be four way stops. It is incredibly scary trying to creep up and look for cars that could be coming because it is impossible to see them without being practically in the middle of the road. The biggest problem areas are on Smith Ave and E University St. For a more detailed location I would be willing to take some pictures once I get a response.
Sent a request on April 8th for information concerning an area of our parking lot that use to be an alley. We have some issues and were trying to get some answers.
Bus routes 6 and 6L have started detouring down E Saratoga Dr in the Park Ridge East neighborhood. It is unsafe for buses to be detouring down this road, as it has no sidewalks, limited visibility, and many people walk in the road with children and dogs. I am requesting that these buses stop using E Saratoga Dr and go back to using Morningside. Thank you.
Drainage ditch near the street in front of my residence has developed deep holes over the past several decades that I have attempted to fill continuously wash out. Could there possibly be in break in the water main? Thank you for looking into this matter.
