Email: I took my son for youth video program at Rhino's around 3:30. There were only 3-4 teenagers and the instructor told us to wait a little bit because of their broken door or something. I didn't notice what was the problem. Then he came out from his office and told us about their video program. He said that basically kids borrow cameras and go home or somewhere and do their video project. And I left my son there. right before 6:00 pm I came back to pick him up and my son was sitting on the couch. I asked how the program was and he said they didn't do anything for those 2.5 hours. I couldn't believe him and kept asking questions. he said those teenagers played video games for 2.5 hours and he just watched them. When he said that I remembered that the instructor mentioned to me that "those kids come here to play video games." I know this is a free program, but I have seen many wonderful free programs throughout the country. I was so regretted that your official website has false advertisement. You really should take out that ad from your website.

Tim Pritchett responded via phone call: I spoke to the mom who was less angry than the report sounded. She seemed more disappointed that her son watched video games for the whole time and didn't make a video. I explained the nature of the center and the program and that both were designed to offer teens a space to do whatever they want to do. The video program exists for kids who want to make videos but not as an assignment based program. I offered to come over next Monday and meet her there and she said she would see if her son wanted to come back or not. She was very appreciative of the phone call. Dave Walter from Rhino's also said: that kid was really hard to communicate with - I kept asking if he wanted to do something, and he would literally just not answer. Generally, I sit down the kids, figure out what they want to do and get them started, but I could not get any sort of response. Both Eric and I were flummoxed. Your idea of just having a standard project the kids all start with is a good one - when in doubt, I'll do that.
