Website & Web Services Feedback:

The information on your page re: Healthy Indiana [ http://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=2334 ] is not correct. My daughter read that and waited the specified 6 months to apply for health insurance. She went to the City building to get an application. And then she learned that it is only for people WITH DEPENDENTS. Please re-read your page and note that no where on that page does it say you need to have a dependent. It is wrong and misleading and needs to be corrected.

Nancy updated the web page on 8-21-2012 with a note: Special Announcement: There is currently a waiting list for (LOCAL) Child Less Adults. Please check back for further details as they become available or Visit the State of Indiana, Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Website for more details.

Received back an email reply from Kathleen on the 17th: Hello Alan, Thank you for your prompt and thoughtful reply. My daughter did call one of the contact numbers. They said she could apply for HIP but that there was over a 2 year waiting list and that there was no need to apply unless you have a dependent. In fact the forms that the City gives out (at the City building) say it only applies to people with dependents -- which was a surprise since the information on the website doesn't mention that at all. So their paperwork won't even let you apply. I just think that should be stated in the information they gave you for the web. I know you didn't author the page -- but I think the contributors should make it right. Thank you again. Kathleen Owens

Hello Kathleen, I'm Alan Schertz and I field feedback requests for the city of Bloomingotn's web site. I want to thank you for sending in the following feedback: The information on your page re: Healthy Indiana [ http://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=2334 ] is not correct. The web page you referenced (on the city's site) is a summary of the State Plan created by Governor Daniels and the Indiana General Assembly in 2007. The summary page clearly states to reference the State's web site for details of the Plan. It also suggests calling 1-877-GET-HIP9. I will inform the author of the City's web page of your findings. I'm sure they did not intend to be misleading. I would encourage you and/or your daughter to contact the state to get a complete understanding of the HIP program. Thanks again for your suggestions, alan schertz
