Mr Ferrand, From your uReport inquiry I am not sure if your concern is that the public is driving on the grass in the park, or that our Parks & Recreation staff is doing so. I will attempt to address both. If you see members of the public driving on the grass in the park, please let us know. We try our best to prevent this activity, but can use all the help we can get. Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm, you can call the Parks & Rec. Dept. at 349-3700. Outside of these hours 339-1944 is the 24 hour CBU switchboard. Or, you can call the Bloomington Police Dept. at 349-4477 any time to report this activity. If your concern is about our staff driving in the park, we do try to keep this to a minimum. There are some maintenance activities that require it. These would be things such as pulling the pressure washer next to the shelter to be cleaned, or performing playground repairs. We also pull vehicles into the parks to empty trash receptacles. We instruct our staff to only have vehicles in the grounds of the parks only when necessary. If you notice a staff member who unnecessarily takes a vehicle off road, please let me know. my contact information is listed below. Respectfully, J. D. Boruff Superintendent of Operations City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation P.O. Box 848 Bloomington, IN 47402 cell (812) 327-6119 boruffj@bloomington.in.gov
