Traffic Suggestions:

The stoplight at the corner of S. College Mall Rd. and E. Buick Cadillac Blvd is quite dangerous. I live in Hunter Ridge apartments and when I leave the complex at the light in that intersection, I'm regularly almost hit by cars coming from the opposite side of the intersection (near Burger King). When I try to go straight through that intersection, as I have the right-a-way, those cars turning left regularly cut me off. The same often happens when I try to turn right. I would strongly suggest putting in a left turn arrow on that Burger King side of the intersection; someone is going to be severely injured if not. Thank you.

We pulled accidents for this intersection and there have been 12 accidents reported at the intersection in the last 3 years. Most of the accidents are red-light running or failure to yield accidents which occur on College Mall Road and not on Buick-Cadillac Drive. None of the accidents occurred in the manner described in the complaint. An intersection count reveals a very small number of vehicles exiting Hunter Ridge Apartments even at peak hours. The lack of crash data indicating this specific issue and the low traffic volume from Hunter Ridge demonstrate a left turn arrow is not warranted.

Paul, can you pull accident reports for this intersection (College Mall & Buick-Cadillac) for the last 3 years? I'm trying to determine whether a left arrow would resolve a potential issue. Thanks, Adrian
