I am very annoyed by the new Tap bar on the corner of College and Kirkwood in the center of our downtown because they broadcast through speakers to the sidewalk area anything and everything: TV, sports casts, music, live entertainment. It is annoying and inappropriate for that area of the downtown. I think it cheapens the area. Can anything be done to stop it?

Spoke to Nathan from Tap. He said when working with the City in Oct. 2012 he was told that his outdoor sound setup was OK. I asked him to keep the volume at a reasonable level for now and we'll go from there. If it gets too loud again we will take additional action.

Looked up the appropriate ordinance to confirm what the rules are. Called Ms. Sweeney and left her a voicemail thanking her for her uReport and told her I would be contacting the Tap regarding the amplified noise.
