citizen did not leave an e-mail or phone #, but here is the response from Dave Williams:
Dear Concerned Citizen,
On the day and time you witnessed the Parks owned green vehicle in the switchboard property it was, in fact, patrolling the property. The employee operating the vehicle was a City of Bloomington Police officer. The switchyard property has been, and will continue to be, patrolled frequently by parks staff and the police department (who also use a white utility vehicle) to deter illegal activity and to help ensure the safety of B-Line Trail users.
As you are aware, the entire city endured substantial snow, ice, and sub zero temperatures over the last several days. Parks employees were directed to stay at home on Monday and Tuesday. All of these factors resulted in conditions where removal of ice from the B-Line, despite repeated plowings and applications of deicers, was next to impossible. Rising temperatures have helped and currently the trail is in good shape in most locations.
City workers will continue to do their job, and thank you for taking the time to share your comments.
