The following was e-mailed to Mr. Bradley 2/25/14: Mr. Bradley, We are familiar with the drainage issues you described in your message. Our hope is to work on the section of trail from the bridge uphill to Olcott Park this season. In addition to home lots and streets in the Stands neighborhood, there is a substantial amount of stormwater run off in this area of the Jackson Creek Trail that finds its way to this location. Installation of additional culverts placed under the trail section will allow more drainage water to go under the trail than over it. Its important to point out that this section of the Olcott Park connecting trail, and the entire Jackson Creek Trail, were constructed in the floodplain. Our work on the Olcott Park trail section will improve drainage in the area, but it will not fully mitigate all the flooding issues in this low lying area, especially with the amount of melting snow that has moved downstream this season. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. Respectfully, Dave Williams Operations Director Bloomington Parks and Recreation
