Drainage or Runoff: Question
Phone Call: Ms Ochoa left a voice message. She is trying to figure out how she can make the front of her house look better. She is the only person with an asphalt gully; all the others have pipes. She would like to make hers nicer by putting in a pipe but doesn't know if that will be allowed or how it would be done.

I spoke with Ms Ochoa and told her I think it is possible to remove the asphalt and have a grass ditch here but our crews would not be able to help with this until probably sometime in the fall. She said that's fine, and really appreciates if she could just be on our list. I told her I would do my best to keep her updated when we believe we may be able to get out there.

I spoke with Tony E. about removing the asphalt ditch and he though it could be possible but isn't able to get to it right now.

I ran by there during the rain event this morning and think it may be possible to have a grass ditch as long as it can get established.

I met with Ms Ochoa to discuss her questions. I told her it might be possible to remove the asphalt and have a grass ditch like across the street as long as she could get the grass established. It would be a more "green" solution. I told her I would like to observe it during a large rain event to see just how much runoff goes through the ditch.
