Other: Not sure if this is the proper place to report, but I own a rental house at 813 W Kirkwood. The side walk in front of the house is all chewed up but my main concern is that the Jordan River surfaces right there on the east border of the house and the one next door. there is a broken railing there that is intended I suppose to protect someone from falling in. It is rusted thru and presents a dangerous situation for a child who could be walking there. Also the interior of that waterway canal has tons of trees growing in it that I think should be cut out, but believe that would be the city's property there to take care of. Any way the two issues make that a dangerous spot. I hope you will look into it and schedule some kind of repair there for safety of our fair city's citizens!! thanks Nancy

I spoke with Ms. Krueger on this date and told her it is the responsibility of the property owner to remove trees and vegetation along the edge of the open channel. I also told her that CBU will remove the small trees currently in the channel in the near future. I also told her that someone from the Street Department will be in contact with her regarding replacing the railing.

I met with Ms. Krueger and her husband on-site. Small trees in the channel will be eradicate. We are checking to see if there is a storm easement on this property regarding the removal of trees along the edge of the open channel.

CBU T&D has gone to this sight and determined while open channel is free of debris, there are some small trees that need to be eradicated. CBU T&D also agrees railing needs to be repaired(replaced). I left message on Ms. Krueger's voice mail to contact me at her earliest convenience to schedule on-site visit to discuss solution.

Jon, Can you please have staff look into the canal/storm sewer issue. I'll handle the sidewalk issue.
