The following e-mail was sent today:
The other part of the tree grate was removed to facilitate the placement of a tree stake to straighten the recently planted street tree. Apparently people were hanging onto the tree and urban forestry was having to straighten it several time. The staking is temporary until spring of 2015. By then, the tree should be rooted and the stake will be removed and the tree grate place back.
Urban Forestry Crews will place more mulch in the opening soon.

Danna, Do we have any more tree grate parts? I think we need to resolve this soon.
