A project is under design and planned for construction in 2017 that will resolve the concern.

Contacted Chief Diekhoff - not possible for police to direct traffic at the intersection during peak hour.

Called and spoke with Randy. Informed him of plans. He inquired about possibly having a police officer direct traffic during the evening rush hour to improve traffic flow. I let him know I would look into that. He looks forward to the traffic signal project and would even be interested in two-way stop control now but recognizes the challenges and unlikeliness associated with it.

We are in the preliminary engineering stage of designing a traffic signal and intersection reconstruction option to address the identified concern. Property acquisition for the project is scheduled to occur in 2016, with construction slated for summer of 2017.

I tried assigning this to Russell White, but I got a message that he is out of the office until May 19th. Please feel free to reassign this to someone else in your department if they would be a better fit to respond.

I spoke with Randy about this issue and he is more concerned with the traffic aspect of this report, rather than the application aspect of it. I told him I would update the request to reflect that new category.
