I spoke to Barbara, the neighbor who submitted the issue. I said that this was a private matter, the inlet was fine but the issue was where the builder placed the driveway. If they chose to change the inlet out and redo the curb and driveway. CBU would be willing to trade her castings but the home owner would have the responsibility to replace the curb and drive. I also said they might try putting a little concrete in the gutter line to make it easier to drive into the driveway. Although, I really don't like this it might serve for a cheap solution and not cause harm to drainage or roadway.

I've made two site visits and had Tony Eads check it out. It appears that there is little that can be done by the City to alleviate the issue. The concrete has heaved approximately an inch and went down in another spot about an inch. The issue is more of where the builder chose to put the driveway. The inlet casting could be changed out to a different type and curb removed and repoured lower, but believe that it should be the home owner's responsibility. I will talk to Joe V on Monday when he returns from vacation.
