Other: East Matlock Road is in need of street lights beginning from the corner of the 45/46 bypass continuing to the Headley School building. There are many residents, bicyclists, and students who use the street as a means of pedestrian passage to the stadium and IU campus at all hours of the night. There are only two lights - one on each end of the street - leaving the stretch in between to be dangerously dark and a hazard to walkers, bicyclists, drivers, and residents alike. Furthermore, with nearby cases of vandalism, theft, as well as the recent disappearance and death of an IU Student in the area, many residents have become concerned over the lack of lighting on the street. There are several utility poles lining the street where street lamps could be placed. The installation of street lamps would benefit not only pedestrian safety and visibility to drivers, but would also allow residents peace-of-mind with the added safety measures that lights would provide.
