Phone Call: Ty left me a voice message indicating they were still having problems with water entering their building in the back alley and believed the Jordan Culvert reconstruction project from a few years ago was the cause.

I returned his call and told him I have looked at this several times and the project did not do anything to the portion of the alley that enters his building on the south side. We added a storm inlet near the alley after the project was completed because of this complaint and I explained to the maintenance person that they should try to regrade their dock area to drain to the inlet. Their own downspouts drain to this area so they are responsible for the water that enters this area. I told him if he felt the project had damaged them, he could file a claim with the City Risk Management dept.
