Sent Jeff the following response: "Thank you for taking the time to submit a uReport regarding your observations at the Bloomfield Road intersection with Rolling Ridge and Twin Lakes Recreation Center. The traffic signal became operational at this intersection in January of this year. Since that time the City's Street Department made adjustments to its signal timing on multiple occasions and traffic flow has improved as a result of those changes; however, as you noted there is still congestion at times. Unfortunately no matter what the City does there will be some delays during peak periods as there is only one lane of traffic in each direction at this traffic signal and heavy traffic volumes. The City has an ongoing project evaluating the signal timing of all the City's traffic signals including the one by Twin Lakes. Staff is looking forward to that project's consultant offering their expert input as they get further along. As you may also be aware, I-69 is in the process of construction work on the 2nd Street/Bloomfield Road/SR 45 Interchange. That construction effort reduced the number of lanes on the overpass to one lane in each direction. Those changes may create congestion that spills back and possibly impact the new traffic signal at Twin Lakes. Furthermore, in the coming months the SR 37/Tapp Road intersection will be closed for I-69 work. The Tapp Road closure will likely further increase the demand and congestion on Bloomfield. Staff will continue to monitor conditions on Bloomfield Road."
