Three of the four corners of the Hawthorne and Maxwell intersection have been addressed and abated. All residents were contacted via mail with a notice of violation letter. All residents complied. The parking obstruction on the Northwest corner will eventually be abated when the street department has time to paint the curb yellow. I contacted the constituent via email to inform them about progress and abatement.

I reevaluated the SE corner today. The obstruction has been abated. The line of sight for motorists traveling North on Hawthorne looking East on maxwell now have adequate line of sight. The line of sight obstruction for all 3 corners are now abated. I will contact the constituent about the abatement.

I met with Alisan Donway at the property in question yesterday (9/22). I did measurements to show her what portion of the ewe bush needed trimmed to improve the line of sight. She is the mother of the property owner who is currently not in the country to address the issue. She proceeded to trim the ewe bush right away. She also had complaints to pass along. All of them were legitimate and I passed them along to the appropriate city personnel to handle. I will reevaluate the property today or Monday.

The property returned my phone call today. They stated they are out of the country so they never received my notice of violation letter. I sent the notice via email and the owner will forward that to someone who can do the trimming. We spoke about myself meeting someone there to help give guidance as to what needs trimmed to help line of sight. The property owner will be in contact with me about setting up a time.

I rechecked this intersection and the SE corner of the intersection had not been abated. I found a phone number for the property owner and called today. I left a voicemail to please call me back about the notice of violation letter I sent regarding the obstruction.

I spoke with the original property owner today about the other corners that have obstructions as well. I asked if they could please do a bit more trimming and they stated they could try to this weekend. I thanked the citizen for bringing the other obstructions to our attention. I will re-check all 3 corners with obstructions in 10 days.

Sending Notice of violation letters to the NW and SE corner residents of this interesection as they also have vegetation blocking line of sight.

I have not asked the property owners to trim more of their flowers; we have investigated the other three corners of the intersection as requested. Will be presenting findings to City traffic engineers for discussion about possible change for this intersection.

Reinspected this location today. Trimmimg has been done, which helped sight distance. There is still more trimming that needs done to make sight distance adequate. The property owners will be informed to trim a bit more.

I contacted the concerned citizen via e-mail to inform them sight distance isn't adequate and letter will be sent to the porperty owner to remedy the situation.

Inspected site yesterday, 8/4/16. Line of site obstruction exists on SW corner of intersection. Motorists traveling North on Hawthorne attempting to turn West onto Maxwell can't see eastbound motorists on Maxwell due to the existing obstruction. Letter will be sent to property owner to remedy obstruction issue.
