City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #156042

Traffic Suggestions:

Other: The intersection at Park Ave and Hunter Ave is a 2-way stop. There are multiple accidents there every year because: 1. The cars parked along the side of the road block views for those crossing Hunter 2. There is a large bush on the southwest corner that completely blocks the view west. Making this a 4-way stop would be much safer and easier to navigate.

I contacted the property owner via phone call and sent them their violation notice via email. They responded quickly by removing the entire bush. Line of sight for this intersection is now adequate. I contacted the constituent via email to let them know the issue is resolved

I happen to be in the area today and saw the bush blocking line of sight had been chopped down. I checked line of sight and it is adequate with the bush removed. I will contact the constituent via email to update them on progress.

I investigated line of sight at this intersection on 10/19/16. A bush along Hunter Ave in the southwest corner of the S Parke Ave and Hunter Ave intersection obstructs the sight distance at this location. Currently, northbound motorists on S Parke Ave looking to the west do not have adequate visibility of eastbound traffic on Hunter Ave. I contacted the property owner today via phone call to inform them of the violation. They asked to receive an emailed copy of the letter which I sent. I contacted the constituent today via email to inform them of progress.
