uReport

City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #156293

Traffic Signals:

Other: The lights on 4th St and college/walnut are very out of sync. Once I can go west through walnut towards college, the light is already changing. I feel like this whole area had just recently become like this. 3rd Street is really bad to, going east.

Hi Daric, thanks for submitting this uReport regarding signal timing on 3rd and 4th at College and Walnut. We're currently in the process of retiming all of the signals in the City. College and Walnut were the first corridors retimed so I have no doubt you saw changes. 3rd Street was retimed next and may have even been in process when you submitted this uReport. Let me know if you're still having problems on 3rd. As the signals are timed it's necessary to prioritize the coordination of some movements over others. It's possible that signals that used to work well for your regular travel patterns (e.g. west on 4th Street) have been disrupted to prioritize other movements with higher volumes. Thanks for submitting this report and please feel free to follow up with any specific concerns you have (please include location, direction, and time of day).
