Traffic Suggestions:

Other: As a resident on the east side of Bloomington, I often find myself on 10th street because it is a main artery through town. I've always wondered why there isn't a designated left turn lane with a left arrow traffic light to help the traffic flow at the intersection at 10th and Pete Ellis. The designated lanes are as follows. Left turn/Straight and a right turn lane. People who turn left aren't able to do so easily because it's a busy street and people who wait behind them are forced to try to re-enter the traffic flow because other cars decide to use the right turn lane to go straight. Unless I'm mistaken, creating your own lane of traffic is frowned upon, so I'm constantly frustrated by the fact that I sit patiently in the left/straight lane behind a car waiting to turn, and then as I'm entering the intersection, have to watch out (yielding to cars that have decided to go around the situation) to avoid getting sideswiped. Perhaps the city developers could look at this particular problem and re-designate the lanes or use resources to get a new light with a left turn arrow. I can't be the first person to have complained about the safety of this intersection.
