A City street light was reported damaged through this uReport and BPD was called to the scene by another citizen on 6/2/17. Officer Dilts responded to the call, please see the case information below. CASE #: B17‑21360 OFFENSE: ACCIDENT, LSA/HIT AND RUN DATE/TIME: 06/02/2017 13:25 OFFICER: DILTS J ADDRESS: 501 S HAWTHORNE DR IR 06/01/17 ‑ AN ELECTRONIC TIP WAS GIVEN TO THE DEPARTMENT CONCERNING AN ANTIQUE LAMP POST THAT HAD BEEN STRUCK BY AN UNKNOWN VEHICLE. UPON SPEAKING WITH SEVERAL WITNESSES IT WAS DETERMINED A MOVING TRUCK HAD STRUCK THE POST CAUSING THE DAMAGE. IT IS UNKNOWN WHO OWNS THE LAMP POST. The Director of Public Works, Adam Wason, contacted Big Boy Moving Company on 6/5/17 and was informed by company representative, Curtis, that he witnessed the incident. Curtis stated that it was the resident with a uHaul Truck that backed into the street light causing the damage. He's willing to sign an affidavit as to what he saw. We are hoping you can assist us in tracking down the driver of the uHaul in order to recover damages to city property. Thanks.

Contacted Street Department to send a crew to the site to remove the damaged light fixture and secure the base so it does not pose a hazard to pedestrians until the pole can be repaired.
