City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Can't Fix #161250

Traffic Related Complaints:

Other: I have a 10 year daughter and a 12 year old son. There are many younger kids in this neighborhood one of which has autism. Many cars throughout the day and night drive too fast around the curve on this road. I'm afraid that a child will be hit by a car. It would be great if a speed bump could be installed here since speed limit signs are not being adhered to.

sent email to constituent: "As you may know, the City has a large project coming up at the intersection of Tapp Rd and Rockport Dr (project website). This project was prioritized because of the congestion caused by the existing all-way stop at the intersection - a condition that we suspect leads to cut-through traffic in the adjacent neighborhoods. During construction, which will start next year, Pinehurst Dr will be closed at its southern terminus with Tapp Rd. The City is investigating ways to mitigate cut-through traffic on nearby residential streets during construction, but after construction it is likely that the desire to use those streets will decrease significantly. It is possible that cars will continue to speed down your street after this project is complete, but I don't think we'll be able to accurately evaluate conditions and prioritize the need for improvements until after the Tapp-Rockport project is complete. Thanks again for taking the time to send these comments and I hope you will follow up with us as necessary after construction. Also feel free to follow up with any questions or comments."
