Emailing with constituent, explained upcoming projects that may have some improvements, asking for additional info to better understand nature of near misses, forwarding info to bike/ped coordinator
Significant changes at this intersection appear unlikely due to many constraints, closing uReport but will continue discussion via direct email to investigate possible improvements

thanks for taking the time to submit this uReport and I'm sorry to hear about your near misses. I'll be forwarding your report to the City's bicycle and pedestrian coordinator to ensure the area is considered for improvements.
To let you know about a few things that are already planned regarding pedestrian safety - there is a project going to construction next year that will install ADA-compliant pedestrian push buttons and countdown pedestrian indications (instead of just a flashing red hand, there's a numerical countdown so you know how much time you have left to cross). There is also a large utility project planned for the area, also next year, that will require removing and replacing a significant amount of pavement. As a part of that work we will be requiring the project to reinstall a more visible crosswalk.
I don't know if those improvements will have any impact on the issue that you're experiencing. Any details that you can provide regarding the nature of the near misses that you note would be helpful. Are you crossing on the north or south side of the street? What time of day? What direction are the cars coming from?
Thanks and please feel free to follow up with additional info, questions, or comments.
