Street Lights:

Other: I recently became a member of the city's Twin Lakes Recreational facility. I appreciate the fact that there is a paved path along 2nd street to bike/walk to Twin Lakes. But there is not a single street light along the path from Landmark. The parking at Twin Lakes in inadequate when youth events take place in the evenings, so it would be great if the path was lit/safer to use. Thank You.

Ms. Bird, Thank you for contacting the City of Bloomington regarding your lighting request along the multi-use pathway that runs along the north side of West Bloomfield Road to the Twin Lakes Recreational Facility. The Department of Public Works installs street lights each year to illuminate public streets primarily at intersections. The City leases lights through Duke Energy and pays for the installation, energy usage, and maintenance costs with Duke providing the maintenance services. I will be more than happy to place your request area on our department's Citizen Lighting Request Worksheet for consideration this year. Please feel free to contact me at smithc@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3589. Best, Christina
