Other: Turning left from 11th street to North Walnut. In order to see the south to north traffic on North Walnut it is necessary to edge out into North Walnut in order to see traffic. Cars that are turning left can usually get around your car if you are turning left, however, today a city bus was turning left, there was a car behind me, so I couldn't back up, I tried to move to the right but that didn't work but finally I did back up so he was able to get around me. Therefore, something needs to be done to improve the visibility of the traffic at that corner.

Staff evaluated this intersection. Cars having a need to edge up to an intersection, past the stop bar, is very common. When we judge site distance, it is not based on where the stop sign or stop bar is, but 14.5' back from the travel lane. In addition, the lane that the bus would have been turning into in this instance is 24' wide, which is quite wide. The concern that buses are struggling to make this turn has been relayed to Bloomington Transit. The sight distance is adequate, and pulling forward to see better is a good practice.
