Other: A neighborhood deer died of natural causes (disease?) this past Monday March 26th on the sidewalk on the side of my house at 425 E Dodds St. We immediately called the city to report it and were told someone could come remove it on Tuesday or Wednesday. We called again Wednesday late afternoon and were told someone would probably come Thursday to remove it. It is now Friday evening, March 30th, and no one has come or contacted me. The deer is now decaying and something is starting to eat it at night. As the Bryan Park neighborhood have homes quite close together, I'm afraid the smell will start to bother the neighbor, and I'm afraid that the dead animal is becoming a health hazard and will spread disease. I was told when I called on Wednesday no one had come to remove it yet because the vehicle that is typically used was out of service, but that it would probably be back in service on Thursday. If the vehicle is not yet back in service, the city should hire a contractor to come remove the deer - I would have done so myself at the beginning of the week if I had known it was going to be left rotting all week. Mr. Burch contacted a private individual to have he carcass removed.
I am so sorry that this has not been dealt with yet. We did have some equipment issues last week, but someone should have stopped by to see what could be done. I will send someone out immediately.
