Other: Has the city considered installing a protected bike lane on 3rd street? Particularly between Jordan Ave and Indiana Ave. I just drove by and there were TWO Semi-tractor trailers parked in the lane and a sedan parked in the lane. It really reflects poorly on the city that you put in useless white paint and nothing to actually protect people from vehicles. I never bother to use the bike lanes for this reason, you never know when you'll have to keep re-entering vehicle traffic.

Hello Jessika, Thank you for your Ureport about 3rd Street. I apologize for my delay in responding. The City is interested in making 3rd Street into a protected bike lane. However, Indiana University has expressed opposition to creating a protected bicycle lane. We will continue to work on it, and to improve safety and comfort along the corridor. I suggest you reach out to elected officials directly as well in order to express your support for such a project. Thank you.
