Trees in power lines is Duke Energy's responsibility. Notified Jordan Adkisson of this by email on 7/2.
Other: My address is technically 1529 W. 8th. We recently purchased our home and just got all moved in. In between my house and our neighbors, there is a ton of overgrowth over power lines connected to our homes. We really need someone to come out and clear the area before it becomes a problem. There is also a very large and what seems like a very dead tree on our neighbors property that is over some power lines as well.

Greetings, I am responding to the uReport that you sent regarding the power lines. This is something that you will need to contact your utility company concerning. HAND does not have jurisdiction regarding tree limbs in power lines on private property. Thank you, Doris Sims
Jason, If we come out, we will cite the property owner to cut down the tree. I would suggest that the property owner contact Duke Energy if the trees are within the power lines. Doris
While overgrowth on a power line may be a fire hazard, overgrowth and possible ordinance violations seems to fall in line with your department. Let me know if we need to partner on this particular issue.
