This plan will takes into account the health and safety of the public and Department staff, and the impact to the environment in an effort to minimize the use of pesticides in City parks. Glyphosate is used in areas where staff safety is a concern (i.e. street medians) and to control invasive plant species. It is not applied to native plants or to invasive plants that are in flower, thus the likelihood of any pollinators (in larval or adult form) coming into contact with it is absolutely minimal. All staff who apply pesticides are licensed and trained by the Office of the Indiana State Chemist. Creating native habitat for pollinators is the landscaping area's top priority. We utilize every tool in our toolbox as needed to accomplish this mission. Thank you, Joanna Sparks City Landscaper Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department (812)349-3497 office"
