closed: Resolved #166067

Website & Web Services Feedback:

Other: Sanitation website says all forms of styrofoam and milk cartons (waxy coating) are non-recyclable but our City recycling cart says that both may be recycled. Can you tell me which is correct? Also, the weblink for emailing Sanitation on the sanitation page is broken. Thank you, Perry Metz

Hello Perry, I'm alan schertz and recived your request for the fact that you submitted it to "website and web application" feedback. Personally I too questioned "what is re-cycleable?". I assumed that what ever was printed on the new carts is what is recyclable. I tried asking around and heard that "Styrofoam" and waxed paper (milk cartons) are NOT recyclable even though they are printed as such on the recycling cart lids. So it might be that the website is correct in that these items are not recyclable. I will forward this issue to Sanitation so that they will respond with the definitive word. But I wanted to at least email you what I have found so far. Hopefully someone from Sanitation will reply back to you to close this issue. Thank you again for inquiring, alan schertz
