City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #166895

Traffic Signals:

Web Form: Is the traffic sign on North Smith correct? I originally saw January 1-3 before realizing was January through March for utilities. Three months?! Is the City aware of how heavy the road is used by commuters? Can utility work be prioritized and expedited? What alternative arrangements is the City making to accommodate traffic? Thank you. Glad something is getting fixed but please don't take that long on that particular road stretch. Guessing something with sewer there?

The signs are correct, there will be utility work during this time period. Duke Energy will be installing new poles along the east side of Smith Rd to accommodate the lines that will be needed to serve the new IU Health Hospital. The utility work will require intermittent lane closures on the east side (northbound) of Smith Rd. The lane will not be closed the entire 3 months, only when work is in progress for 1-7 days at a time. Please feel free to reach out to me for any further questions at 812-349-3576 Thank you, Sara Gomez
