Traffic Suggestions:

Web Form: I live between Kenwood Dr. and 16th Street where it intersects with Madison Avenue. Kenwood Dr. and 16th street are both very small, and I have a couple of reasons to think that they should be made one ways. I have had multiple times where I have been trying to turn into Kenwood Dr. from Madison, and had a car blocking my way because they were coming out that way. Similarly, I have not been able to get into my parking lot on 16th street because of someone coming from Madison as I was coming in from Woodburn Avenue. It would really help the flow of traffic if there were one way signs, and clearer street signs in this area, and prevent traffic blocks on these small roads. On Kenwood drive, there is an apartment complex with diagonal parking, facing east. I have noticed that the car on the end has a lot of dings, from people turning into their car. I think this is happening because of the fact that when another car is blocking your way, you have to make a wide turn into Kenwood Dr. and then the person's car is in the crossfire. I hope this is clear enough evidence and that it will be taken into consideration.

The streets mentioned in this uReport are, indeed very narrow. This is because they were laid out a long time ago. Staff realizes that sometimes two cars will approach one another from opposite directions and one car will have to wait while the other passes. Based on how low volume the streets are, this will not happen often, and would not be a strong impediment for drivers. There appears to be enough room for a driver on Madison to turn onto 16th without hitting a parking car at the apartment complex on the NE corner of 16th and Madison. Many of the older streets in Bloomington are as narrow as the ones described here. The warrant to make them one-way streets would be something like a large increase in volume or a high crash rate.
