It is designed to beep 24/7 for the visually impaired. The volume is self adjusting to the ambient noise levels.
Web Form: I live at 601 N Walnut Street. The cross walks there (corner of 10th and Walnut) have pedestrian safety crossing buttons and speakers that beep. However, these beeps constantly (24 hours a day) not just when a button is pushed. I can hear it inside my apartment with the windows closed, in my bedroom with the door closed and a pillow over my head. I understand it is a safety feature, but is there a way to fix it so it only beeps when a pedestrian pushes the button to cross the street? Feel free to contact me on the phone if you have any questions: 201-615-2751. Thanks for your help! Christina Friberg
