uReport

City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #167727

Blocked Street:

Web Form: Why didn’t anyone inform anybody about closing Roger’s street between Grimes/Patterson and Rockport tonight. It created a cluster f*** for everyone getting home south of there. There used to be a report in the H/T and there were no signs posted to inform of closure. I had to go all the way around to get to my home near RCA park. Someone needs to address this!

The constituent remained anonymous therefore I only responded in the uReport system with the following: The City enters closures into inRoads and an email goes out on Friday afternoon that the H/T will then publish. Due to this being approved on a Tuesday and the work beginning on Thursday that step in the process didn't happen. We can look into a solution for this. The contractor is responsible for installing MUTCD compliant traffic control for a Road closure such as this which would include advance warning and detour signage. Had they installed such signage this confusion would not have been an issue. This issue has been addressed with the Contractor by City staff.
