Parks & Rec Buildings:

Web Form: Our home, at 1016 S. Manor Road, is directly across Woodlawn from the Bryan Park Pool. There are security lights on the west side of the pool which point directly towards our house, illuminating our bedroom even with the shades down. It would see far more neighborly if the lights were on the east side of the pool, facing deeper into the park rather than into our neighborhood. Is this something you can remedy?

Communicated directly by email with this customer. We decided to turn off all lights during the winter as not needed and no sense in light spillage. We will do reduced lighting in the summer as we do have kids that climb the fence or break locks/doors to break in concessions. New LED lights are much brighter than old ones and that took us by surprise.

Tom...nice to talk to you at lunch. I spoke with our maintenance guy and he did shut off the west side pool lights today. Give me some time to go there this weekend and check out where we are with that change. In any event, we will get it to a neighborly resolution...there are other options too like adjusting the aim or adding shields, etc. The new lights were installed this spring so this is rather new. One question...is this only a problem for you when the foliage is off the trees? My direct email is turnbulj@bloomington.in.gov
