Replaced the loop detection amp. All traffic detection is working properly at this time.
Web Form: Hello! The intersection of 17th st and Kinser Pike has two left turn lanes each direction off 17th st turning both North and South onto Kinser Pike. The left turn green arrow does not get activated when there is only one car in either direction. I've seen it not get activated when there two cars. These left turns are dangerous for many reasons. This is the crest of a hill and they are basically blind turns when making a left and traffic generally speeds through this intersection very fast. If the left turn green arrow is not activated and there is someone else sitting in the opposite left turn lane facing us, there is no way to see what cars are coming without inching our front ends into the lane hoping we don't get hit and then proceeding with the aforementioned blind turn. I'm asking that the City of Bloomington make the left turn signal green arrows turning off of 17th onto Kinser Pike in both the North and South direction be activated with only one car in the lane. Please make this intersection much less dangerous and precarious for the residents of Bloomington. Gratefully! Mike Stribling mikestribling@hotmail.com
